கர்நாடக அரசின் "ஒரு நாள் சிறை கைதி திட்டம்"
சிறையில் வாழ விரும்புபவர்களுக்காக ரூ.500 கட்டணம் செலுத்தி ஒரு நாள் முழுவதும் சிறையில் கைதியாக தங்கும் திட்டத்தை (A Day in the Life of a Prisoner Scheme) கர்நாடக அரசு அமல்படுத்த முடிவு செய்து உள்ளது.
அவர்களுக்கு எந்த சலுகைகையும் அளிக்கப்படாது. இந்த திட்டம், குற்றச்சம்பவங்களில் ஈடுபடுவதை தடுப்பதை நோக்கமாக கொண்டும், கைதிகள் வாழ்க்கை குறித்து மக்களுக்கு விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தவும் தொடங்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது.
ஒரு நாள் சிறை கைதி திட்டத்தில் சேர வருபவர்களுக்கு கைதியின் சீருடை, கைதி எண், கைதிகளுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் உணவு, கைதிகள் செய்யும் வேலைகள் ஆகியவை வழங்கப்படும். அவர்களும் கைதிகள் போலவே நடத்தப்படுவார்கள்.
கர்நாடக மாநிலம் பெலகாவியில் உள்ள ஹிண்டல்கா (Hindalga Jail), சிறையில், ரூ.500 கட்டணம் செலுத்தினால் ஒரு நாள் முழுவதும் கைதியாக வாழும் திட்டம் அமல்படுத்தபட உள்ளது.

- Proposing ‘A day in the life of a prisoner’ as a tourism concept, Karnataka Belagavi’s Hindalga Central Prison authorities have come up with a novel initiative where commoners will be allowed to live a prisoner’s life for 24 hours, for a fee of Rs 500.
- They are now awaiting the government’s nod to implement the initiative. The visitors will be treated just like other prisoners - starting from the wake-up call at dawn to the day’s routine.
- The high point of this day out will be dressing up in the prison uniform, getting a qaidi number, sharing cells, eating the same food and joining the inmates in their daily chores like gardening, cooking and cleaning the premises.
