TRB invites applications are invited only through online mode for Teacher Eligibility Test, Paper I and Paper II for the year 2019 from the eligible candidates in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2019 Notification Published 28.2.2019

Eligibility to Write TNTET Exam 2019

(As per GO (MS) No 70, School Education (MS) department dated 12.04.2018).

Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V). 
  1. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). Or 
  2. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. Or 
  3. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or
  4. 4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education). Or 
  5. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). Or 
  6. Graduation with atleast 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,).  
Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII). 
  1. Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). Or
  2. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). Or 
  3. Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations. Or 
  4. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or 
  5. Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed. Or 
  6. Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education). Or 
  7. Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET. 
Structure and Content of TNTET Exam 2019 

Number of questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions Duration of Examination: 3 Hours 

TNTET Paper 1
Note
  1. Child Development and pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years. 
  2. Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction.The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl.No.(ii) above in Paper-I table. For recruitment process candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium only 
  3. c. Language II English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities. 
  4.  Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. 
  5. The questions in the TET Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be up to the Secondary Stage.
TNTET Paper 2
Note
  1. Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 11- 14 Years. 
  2. Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl. No.(ii) above in Paper II table. For recruitment process, candidate shall be considered for the vacancies in the concerned medium only. 
  3. Language II - English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities. d. Mathematics and Science / Social Science will focus on the concepts.
  4. Problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. e. The questions in the test Paper-II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes VI-VIII but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be up to the Senior Secondary (Higher Secondary ) Stage.  
How To Apply TN TET Exam 2019
  1. Candidates should apply only through online mode in the TRB website http://www.trb.tn.nic.in 
  2. Use separate application for Paper-I and Paper-II. 
  3. Candidates should ensure that they have their scanned recent color passport size photograph (JPG/JPEG /PNG format of size 20-60 kB) and signature (JPG/JPEG/PNG format of size 10-30 kB) separately. 
  4. The online application uploaded without the photograph and signature will be rejected. d) A valid e-mail id and Mobile Number are mandatory for registration and e-mail id should be kept active till the declaration of results. 
  5. All the particulars mentioned in the online application including name of the candidate, paper applied, communal category, date of birth, address and all other fields will be considered as final. 
  6. Candidates are requested to fill the online application form with utmost care and caution as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained. 
  7. Incomplete or defective applications shall be summarily rejected. 
  8. No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances. 
  9. The online application can be submitted up to 05.04.2019 till 05.00 PM after which the link gets disabled.  
Examination Fees for TN TET Exam 2019
  1. The Examination fee is Rs. 500/- for all the candidates except SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability. 
  2. For SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability Candidates, the examination fee is Rs. 250/-. 
  3. Since the examination fee is different for various categories, candidates are advised to enter the correct Community / Person with Disability category. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded. ii. Online payment to be made only through Payment Gateway. (Net banking/Credit Card / Debit Card)
  4. Offline mode of payment in any form such as Demand Draft / Postal order etc. will not be accepted. The candidates, who want to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II, should pay separately for both. 
Written Examination for TN TET Exam 2019
  1. The date, time and center for the Written Examination will be indicated in the Hall Ticket. 
  2. The Hall Tickets for the eligible candidates will be uploaded by the TRB in its official website. 
  3. The candidates are advised to  refer the TRB website for details (http://www.trb.tn.nic.in). 
  4. No written communication will be sent to the candidate. 
  5. The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board on the eligibility of the candidate to appear for the examination will be final. 
Centre for Examination for TN TET Exam 2019
  1. Examination will be held in all districts. 
  2. Candidates should appear for the Examination at their own expenses. 
  3. The Board reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of examination centres and to re-allot the candidates for administrative reasons. 
General Information:
  1. Candidates who have secured 60% and above in the TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Examination will be issued with TNTET (Paper-I/ Paper-II) Pass Certificate. 
  2. However relaxation of 5% marks will be given to BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC, SC, SC(A), ST and Person with Disability Candidates. 
  3. TET Certificate will be valid for 7 (seven) years. 
  4. Mere holding of a TET certificate does not confer any right to appointment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment. 
  5. As per G.O.(Ms)No.149, School Education (TRB) Department dated 20.07.2018, TET qualified candidates has to appear for a separate competitive examination related to recruitment. 
Action against candidates found guilty of misconduct: 
  1. Candidates are warned that they should not furnish the particulars that are false or suppress any material information while filling in the application form. 
  2. Candidates are also warned that they should in no case attempt to alter or otherwise tamper with any entry in a document or submit details based on tampered/ fabricated document. 
  3. If there is any inaccuracy or any discrepancy, in filling answer sheet, it will not be evaluated. 
Without prejudice to criminal action/ debarment from writing TRB's examination wherever necessary, candidature will be summarily cancelled at any stage of the recruitment in respect of candidates found to have indulged in any of the following: 
  1. In possession of mobile phone & accessories, Bluetooth devices and other electronic gadgets within the premises of the Examination Centres, whether in use or in switched off mode and in person or otherwise. 
  2. Involved in malpractices.
  3. Using unfair means in the examination hall. 
  4. Obtaining support for his/ her candidature by any means. 
  5. Impersonate/procuring impersonation by any person.
  6. Submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with.
  7. Making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material information.
  8. Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his/ her candidature for the examination. 
  9. Misbehaving in any manner in the examination hall with the Supervisor, Invigilator or TRB's representatives. 
  10. Taking away the Answer Sheet with him/ her from the examination hall, or passing it on to unauthorized persons during the conduct of the examination. 
  11. Intimidating or causing bodily harm to the staff employed by the TRB for the conduct of examination. 
  12. Candidature can also be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment for any other ground which the TRB considers to be sufficient cause for cancellation of candidature.
