PM SHRI SCHEME
The Union Cabinet on 7.9.2022, approved the PM Schools for Rising India (PMSHRI) scheme to turn existing government schools into model schools for implementation of the National Education Policy, 2022.
Government schools will be selected if a State agrees to implement NEP in 'entirety'.
The scheme will be imple mented as a Centrally sponsored scheme with a total project cost of Rs.27,360 crore, with the Centre's share being Rs.18,128 crore for the period of five years from 2022-23 to 2026-27 for transforming nearly 14,500 schools across the country.
