World Malaria Day, 25 April 2018- World Malaria Day (WMD) is an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global efforts to control malaria.
- Globally, 3.3 billion people in 106 countries are at risk of malaria. In 2012, malaria caused an estimated 627,000 deaths, mostly among African children.
- Asia, Latin America, and to a lesser extent the Middle East and parts of Europe are also affected.
- This year’s World Malaria Day coincides with activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of WHO.
மலேரியா ஒழிப்பு தினம் - ஏப்ரல் 25
- ஆண்டுதோறும் ஏப்ரல் 25-ம் நாள் ‘மலேரியா ஒழிப்பு தினமாக’ (World Malaria Day) கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. உலகமெங்கும் மக்களுக்கு மலேரியா நோய் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்த இந்நாள் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- 2018 உலக ‘மலேரியா ஒழிப்பு தின கருப்பொருள்: மலேரியாவை விரட்ட தயாராவோம் (Ready to Beat Malaria) என்பதாகும்.
