The 2016 Wimbledon Championships is a Grand Slam tennis tournament which is currently talking place at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. It commenced on 27th June 2016 and will conclude on 10th July 2016.
- This year is the 130th edition of the championships, the 49th in the Open Era and the third Grand Slam tournament of 2016, played on grass courts and is a part of the ATP World Tour, the WTA Tour, the ITF Junior tour and the NEC Tour. The tournament is organised by All England Lawn Tennis Club and International Tennis Federation.
- Novak Djokovic is the two-time defending champion in the Gentlemen's single and Serena Williams is the defending champion in the Ladies singles.
- The Grand Slam itinerary consists of the Australian Open in mid January, the French Open in May and June, Wimbledon in June and July, and the US Open in August and September. Each tournament is played over a period of two weeks.
