சர்வேதச நடுநிலை நாள் - டிசம்பர் 12
- ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் பொதுச் சபையால் 1995 ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 2 ஆம் தேதி, துர்க்மேனிஸ்தானால் அறிமுகப்படுத்த "ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை நிரந்தரமாக நடுநிலை வகிக்கும் தீர்மானம்" அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட நாள் டிசம்பர் 12, ஆகும்.
- ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை நிரந்தரமாக நடுநிலை வகிப்பதை உறுதி செய்யும் இந்த தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டதின் நினைவாக ஆண்டுதோறும் "சர்வேதச நடுநிலை நாள்" டிசம்பர் 12 அன்று (International Day of Neutrality) கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
12 December the International Day of Neutrality
- United Nations General Assembly decided to declare 12 December the International Day of Neutrality, and called for marking the day by holding events aimed at enhancing public awareness of the value of neutrality in international relations.
Neutrality
- Neutrality — defined as the legal status arising from the abstention of a state from all participation in a war between other states, the maintenance of an attitude of impartiality toward the belligerents, and the recognition by the belligerents of this abstention and impartiality — is critically important for the United Nations to gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of all in order to operate independently and effectively, especially in situations that are politically charged.
